Here he is, my first foray into the world of sewing.
I remember the occasion distinctly, Christmas Day at my Grandparents house, which was exciting enough for a five year old, but on receiving a box filled with cardboard figures and wool – well, I just couldn’t wait to get started, and on this very day ‘teddy’ was brought to life.
This was the very first time I had used a ‘grown up’ needle (albeit a big chunky one) and I can remember savouring each and every hole. I worked on it until my masterpiece was complete. That was more years ago now than I care to remember, but that was the day that started my journey into the creative.
This one endeavour led to a love of all things artistically inspired – knitting, sewing, cross stitch, card making and lots of other crafts in-between.
So, from one little cardboard bear (and a strange turn of events in my world) a new life path emerged in front of me, and my gorgeous new company was brought into being…
We are still ‘under construction’ and it is early days, but I thought it would be great to share with you just how Fabrics and Fancies came to be.
So, what a great way to spend a day - doing something I love, spending my days immersed in the gorgeousness of new fabrics, and, as we expand we will have more and more lovely things to add too. Just Complete Creative Bliss ;o)
